Scary for a good cause: Horror castle in Biberach opens again!

The Bachlanger Schlössle in Biberach turns into a haunted castle again on Halloween. This tradition has been attracting horror lovers for around ten years. This year's theme "The Last Kingdom" promises a spooky experience, which opened on October 24th at 6 p.m. and lasts until October 31st. Admission is free, but if you like, you can make donations for the Radio 7 Drachenkinder, who support sick and traumatized children. South Courier reports that the preparation of the horror house began in May and Wolfram König, dressed as a Danish warrior, is taking over the organization.

The König family, supported by around 20 helpers, has prepared numerous figures and decorations. There are impressive self-made sculptures of skeletons, zombies and even a large dragon that move as you approach. “Passion” is at the forefront for Wolfram König when it comes to designing the horror house. His wife Kim takes care of the organization and has also set up a horror shop and a witch's kitchen, which make the experience even more lively. This year the family is expecting over 10,000 visitors, primarily families with children. Swabian emphasizes that the preparations require a huge effort, with the six children of the family also helping actively.

Special attractions and challenges

The decoration of the castle includes not only the figures already mentioned, but also medieval motifs - in keeping with the theme of “The Last Kingdom”. Anyone who likes horror can look forward to an impressive ambience that makes the visit an unforgettable experience. Security guards are also on duty to direct guests to the parking spaces and to comply with the necessary regulations from the public order office, which could pose challenges for the event.

Last but not least, the scary attraction not only causes fear and terror, but also provides important support for the Radio 7 Drachenkinder. The annual expenses for the Halloween project amount to around 2,500 euros. Despite the possible difficulties, Wolfram König has already announced that he will continue the tradition in the future and offer visitors a unique experience. Halloween, which has its roots in old customs and is now celebrated as the evening before All Saints' Day, also offers a lively connection between customs and modernity here in Biberach. Wikipedia describes Halloween as a festival characterized by the spooky and supernatural and celebrated worldwide.
