From childhood to dream: Steffi and her legendary Mustang!
The ardent passion for classic cars can often have its origins in childhood. This was also the case with Steffi Kleinheinz from Dürmentingen, who was thrilled with her toy model of a Ford Mustang even as a child. Four years ago she fulfilled her dream and purchased a real Mustang, built in 1967. With its elegant black paintwork and red leather interior, this classic is an eye-catcher and gives the passionate driver a lot of joy. In your opinion, the Mustang is a true masterpiece that has a fan base not only in the USA, but also here, as [Americar] describes in a recent article.
The Mustang, which was imported from the USA, has an interesting history behind it. It was never registered in Germany before and Kleinheinz is the first proud owner. However, her affinity for classic cars goes beyond the Mustang. There is also an Adler M100, a Hercules 219A and a Panther motorcycle in the garage. Kleinheinz feels at home in the classic car scene, even if, as a woman, she is somewhat of an exception in the US car scene. She often has to wrestle with the question of whether the Mustang belongs to her father or a friend.
Technical characteristics and driving behavior
The Ford Mustang Coupé impresses with its simple and robust technology, equipped with a 4.7-liter V8 engine that delivers 205 hp. The combination of comfort and performance is a plus point for Kleinheinz. She prefers to drive at a leisurely pace, keeping the top speed at 120 miles after the speedometer jumps when driving faster. Consumption is a modest 14 to 17 liters when driving carefully. She was once stopped by the police for not wearing a seatbelt. Thanks to the existing protection, you don't have to retrofit them.
Classic car meetings and search queries
Kleinheinz loves taking part in classic car meetings and meeting like-minded people there. To further promote the passion for classic cars, there are numerous Ford Mustang models that are currently offered on the [Classifieds] platform. Most recently, a Ford Mustang Coupé from 1967 was advertised in Seligenstadt, other variations such as the convertible V8 289 GT or even the Mustang from 1964 with beautiful red leather interior are also currently available.
If you would like to learn more about the history of the Mustang, you will find valuable information about the vehicle and its model history in the book “Speed Read Mustang”. Written by Donald Farr, a veteran of the Mustang scene, the 160-page book is a true tribute to the classic that has been a best seller since its introduction in 1964. Anyone interested in this cult sports car can purchase the book for €19.95 and learn more about the fascination and development of the Mustang.
Kleinheinz, who is looking for her missing miniature Mustang from her childhood, shows that the love of classic cars transcends generations - and every classic tells its own story.
