Festival weeks in Leonberg: running, jazz and celebrations in front of a historical backdrop!

There will be a lot going on in and around Leonberg next weekend. Numerous events invite you to enjoy the beautiful weather and the sociable atmosphere. The Leonberger City Run is at the top of the list. On Saturday at 8:20 p.m., sports enthusiasts can choose between two distances, the 5-kilometer and 10-kilometer run. For the little runners, there are children's and school runs around the Reiterstadion in the afternoon. Spectators will also be catered for with a program and good food at the Steinstraße festival site. Musical sounds accompany the runners along the route and the Eltingen Kirbeverein has organized a fan mile on Carl-Schmincke-Straße. Of course, a look at the summer festival of the fruit, garden and wine growing association on the church square should not be missed, which will certainly attract many visitors, like Stuttgart News reported.

Another highlight of the region is the town festival in Weil der Stadt, which is celebrating a very special anniversary this year: 950 years since it was first mentioned in a document. This Saturday from 11 a.m. and Sunday from 10.30 a.m. over 45 stands from clubs, businesses and restaurants will be open. The colorful diversity has already created an exciting atmosphere in the past, which is further enhanced by live music and various activities on two stages. Of course, the shops are also open on Sundays and offer a special program for children as well as a flea market to browse, as the Stadt Weil der Stadt reports.

Cultural delicacies and festivities

In Korntal-Münchingen the focus is on gourmets and jazz lovers. To mark the city's 50th anniversary, a jazz festival will take place starting on Friday, June 27th at 7:30 p.m. The artists Fola Dada, Veit Hübner, Roland Baisch and others will ensure an unforgettable experience. Children can look forward to a free children's theater on Saturday at 3 p.m., before the evening ends at 7:30 p.m. with the sounds of Berta Epple and the Count Baischy Orchestra. Entrance tickets are available for 25 euros, reduced entry costs 20 euros, and a combination ticket is available for 40 euros.

In Hirschlanden, too, the traditional children's festival continues on Saturday, June 28th at the Seehansen sports grounds, which offers a colorful program for the little ones from 12 p.m. to 5 p.m. On the same weekend, the Fleckenfest takes place in Rutesheim, which begins on Saturday at 4 p.m. and is dedicated to the celebrations with a barrel tapping by Mayor Susanne Widmaier at 5:30 p.m. On Sunday the festivities start at 10 a.m. with an ecumenical service and a convivial morning pint.

Various events and exhibitions in the area

The cultural diversity is complemented by a number of exhibitions and festivals in the region. This includes the NaturVision Film Festival in Ludwigsburg, which takes place from June 25th to 29th. The aim of the festival is to encourage rethinking and active action through documentaries. The Ludwigsburg Theater Summer with exciting productions in the theater garden also brings a breath of fresh air into the cultural scene. A very special highlight is the exhibition by Katharina Grosse, which opens in Stuttgart from April 11, 2025, and which deals with three-dimensional works, as can be read at [Event Baden-Württemberg](https://www.
