Airfield company run in Böblingen: Team spirit defies the drizzle!

The 14th airfield company run in the Böblingen district took place on September 23, 2025, and despite the unpleasant weather with cold and drizzle, the participants were in a good mood. The temperatures were around 11 degrees, but that didn't dampen the runners' spirits. Organizer Axel Stahl welcomed numerous sporting teams who took on the challenge of a five-kilometer route around the Long Lake. Particularly noteworthy is the commitment of the Lear Corporation, which took part in the event with around 20 employees, as well as the automotive development service provider IAV, which was also represented. This year there was more to motivate than just the sporting times - the focus was on team spirit and networking.

With over 55 participants from a wide range of areas, including kindergartens and the fire department of the city of Böblingen, the event was a real hit. Particularly striking was the Nordic walking group from the Southwest Hospital Association, which showed sensational support as the group with the largest number of participants. A warm-up under the guidance of Deniz Arslan from AOK warmed up the participants and ensured an energetic start to the run.

Top performance and team spirit

Despite the adverse weather conditions, some participants showed remarkable performances. The fastest of the day was Alexander Hirschhäuser from Wörwag, who completed the route in 18 minutes. Tamara Walter from One World GmbH secured the title of fastest woman with a time of 19:55 minutes. The team ranking was determined by the hospital alliances, which dominated in various categories:

  • Männliche Viererteams: Klinikverbündler I mit Bruno Andrade de Pino (18:34 Minuten) gewinnt.
  • Weibliche Viererteams: Klinikverbündler I mit Stephanie Storz (21:12 Minuten) siegt.
  • Mixed-Teams: Klinikverbündler I ebenso erfolgreich.

The company run not only helped the participants' fitness, but above all also strengthened collegial cooperation. Sporting activities like these not only promote health, but also strengthen team spirit and the feeling of togetherness within the company. Events of this type have been a proven means of increasing employer attractiveness for many years, as the entrepreneurial community in Düsseldorf also emphasizes for future events. According to studies by the ifaa – Institute for Applied Ergonomics, such company events demonstrate significant positive effects on the physical and mental health of employees. The company run as a counterpoint to a lack of exercise not only brings increased physical well-being, but also increased resilience to stress and a reduced risk of chronic illnesses.

This run is much more than just a competition: it connects people, promotes understanding of each other and brings teams together. The focus is on having fun while moving, and everyone, whether an ambitious runner or a leisurely walker, is welcome in this sociable group.

Overall, the 14th airfield company run was a complete success, with people not only fighting for best times, but also strengthening the sense of community and collegial bonds. The company run sends a strong signal for a health-conscious corporate culture and sustainable team spirit.
