Big performance: 1,700 primary school students inspire at school singing days in Böblingen!

The small voices of Böblingen made the congress hall ring on July 15th and 16th, 2025. At this year's School Singing Days, organized in the Europa Hall, around 1,700 primary school children from seven schools performed and provided an impressive musical experience. The events whose motto is “Singing all together!” was very well received – both by the children and the audience. Parents and teachers watched with joy as their children sang with passion.

Rainer Kropf, head of the Böblingen Music and Art School, was particularly proud, as he felt “pure enthusiasm” floating through the room at the last performance on Wednesday evening. The children, who presented their skills with a lot of enthusiasm and a variety of songs, had previously played music in small groups twice a week. This happened as part of the “SingPause BB” initiative, a valuable cooperation between the city and the participating primary schools.

Participating schools and funding

Overall, the Paul Lechler School, the Erich Kästner School, the Eduard Mörike School, the Friedrich Silcher School, the Eichendorff School, the Ludwig Uhland School and the Justinus Kerner School took part in this inspiring project. In addition to the city, the Lechler Foundation, the Böblingen Community Foundation and the LBBW Foundation also supported the school singing days.

The musical accompaniment by the Hanke Brothers from Sindelfingen created a successful ambience. Admission to the concerts was free, making it easier for families to attend this special event. Tickets were available at the music and art school office, and the concerts took place at 4:00 p.m. and 6:00 p.m.

A symbol of community

In addition to the musical performances, the aim of the school singing days was also to promote community and arouse musical enthusiasm among the young participants. The method of musical literacy used in the rehearsals is known as the Ward method and has proven itself many times over.

Overall, the performance was not only a great experience for the children, but also a sign of the strong sense of community that exists in Böblingen. It is to be hoped that such enchanting events will continue to be promoted in the future. According to Böblingen.de, the city is looking forward to the next school singing days, which will undoubtedly bring even more musical splendor to the region.
