Habo SG women triumph with a strong final against Rhein-Neckar-Löwen

The Habo SG women show their class again and beat the Rhein-Neckar-Löwen on Saturday evening in Kleinbottwar with an impressive 24:19. In an exciting game marked by mistakes on both sides, coach Daniela Thulke's team managed to pull away decisively in the final phase. Both teams struggled at the beginning, which is why the first goal only came after four and a half minutes, when Anna-Lena Mächtel gave the guests the lead. But Sophie Bauer quickly equalized to make it 1-1, as the Marbacher Zeitung reports.

The first half was marked by errors in play and missed throws, but Habo still showed some impressive goals and went into the break with a 9:7 lead. With a strong performance at the start of the second period, the team increased the lead to 12:8. But technical errors crept in again and the guests even led 17:16 in the 50th minute. In the decisive moment, however, Habo showed strong nerves: goalkeeper Jessica Goebel held on to what she could and only allowed two goals in the final phase. Luana Klopfer was the best scorer of the game with ten goals, including four in the final minutes.

Back on the winning road

The Habo SG is rehabilitating itself after a previous defeat against Degmarn-Oedheim and now has a score of 6:6. Coach Daniela Thulke praised the tireless efforts of her players, who showed great commitment on the pitch despite difficulties in training due to absences. The team was able to achieve an important home win and consolidate its place in the league.

A look back at the season shows that Habo SG also impressed with a 26:22 home win in the opening game against HC Oppenweiler/Backnang. In this game, the women started cautiously, but quickly found their rhythm and were already leading 16:8 at halftime, as the Stuttgarter Nachrichten recorded. This performance shows that the team is performing strongly despite minor setbacks and that the differences to the previously mentioned difficulties from the games can be significantly reduced.

The competition never sleeps

However, the competition in the association league remains tough. On the other hand, the HSG from Hemmingen and Schwieberdingen has lost several key players while at the same time hoping for promotion to the association league. The new coach Stefan Hirschmann, who is now in his ninth season at HSG, is pursuing the goal of securing relegation with his team and is relying on a mixture of experience and young talent, like the Bietigheimer Newspaper mentioned. These developments ensure exciting duels in the league and promise a thrilling season.
