World Cup winter in the Black Forest: Exciting competitions in 2025/26 are coming!
What is happening in the Black Forest? Exciting competitions and events are coming up in the region in the 2025/26 winter sports season. The World Cup winter in the Black Forest promises an exciting program: This year there will be alpine championships on Feldberg, the combination in Schonach as well as exciting biathlon competitions on Notschrei, such as Black Forest messenger reported.
A full program awaits winter sports enthusiasts right on their doorstep. The highest point is scheduled for December 13th and 14th, 2025 with the World Cup for the best ski jumpers in Klingenthal. This station will compensate for the cancellation of Lake Placid. There are also other high-class stations in Germany in Garmisch-Partenkirchen, Oberstdorf and Willingen, to name just a few.
Exciting events in individual sports
In the area of ski jumping, Anna Hollandt (formerly Rupprecht) definitely had bright spots at the Summer Grand Prix in Courchevel: She reached places 19 and 15, but she will not be competing in the top ski jumping league in the Black Forest. There will also be no World Cup in Titisee-Neustadt in the winter of 2025/26, so expectations are focused on the other stations.
The talented Daniela Maier and Jana Fischer, who come from the region, are also looking for their opportunities. Maier starts on the 11th/12th. December in Val Thorens, while Fischer for the 20th/21st. December was reported in Cervinia. The situation is not ideal for cross aces from the Black Forest like Daniela and Jana, as there are no cross world cups in Germany.
Biathlon and para sports
A highlight in the region will be the Para Biathlon World Cup, which will take place on the Notschrei from January 8th to 11th, 2026. This is a great way to bring para-sports into the spotlight. Janina Hettich-Walz will also be taking part in the competition again after she went on maternity leave. She plans to return to the stations in Oberhof and Ruhpolding in January 2026.
The sporting event that will also be celebrated next year is the Black Forest Cup in Schonach, which is celebrating its 60th anniversary and will take place on January 3rd and 4th, 2026. A worthy occasion to take a look at the tradition of winter sports in this region.
Think outside the box
In addition to sport, the Black Forest also shows itself in other facets. The region has a lot to offer and could prove to be an attractive destination for holidaymakers. If you're planning a break, you could perhaps rent one of the cozy holiday accommodations. “Tides” on the Isle of Skye, for example, impresses with spacious rooms and beautiful views - perhaps an incentive to swap your own four walls for a comfortable break.
The range of sports on offer and the varied nature as well as the charming accommodation options make the Black Forest a worthwhile destination for both athletes and holidaymakers. Whether competing or relaxing, relaxation and thrills are at your fingertips here.
