Horrifying incident in Nürtingen: Exhibitionist harasses woman and child!
In Nürtingen, a town in the Esslingen district, a shocking incident occurred on Friday, June 28, 2025: A woman with a stroller was harassed by an unknown man around 4 p.m. He first urinated on a gravel path and then masturbated in front of the woman while looking directly at her. After the crime, the woman got into her car, whereupon the perpetrator fled on a bicycle in an unknown direction. The police were informed immediately and launched a search, which was unsuccessful. Investigators are now looking for witnesses who can provide information about the incident. They can call 0 70 22 / 9 22 40, reports the Esslinger Zeitung.
The perpetrator is described as around 30 years old, around 1.70 meters tall and wearing jeans and a light blue T-shirt. However, such incidents are not isolated. There is another similar case in Nürtingen: A 65-year-old was investigated because he appeared naked in public several times. The incidents occurred on Monday and Tuesday of the same week. On Monday he was spotted naked on a bicycle at Lake Beutwang, where he harassed a passer-by. On Tuesday he approached several women while he was unclothed. One of the women affected was able to take a photo of the perpetrator, which ultimately led to the man's identification. He is now facing corresponding advertisements, as the KRZBB reports.
Increasing violent and sexual crimes in Germany
These frightening incidents fall into a worrying trend: the numbers of sexual violence are continually rising in Germany. In 2024, a new high was reached with around 128,000 recorded sexual crimes, according to data from the Federal Criminal Police Office (BKA). One reason for this could be the increased sensitivity and willingness to report things among the population. However, the number of unreported cases of unknown cases is estimated to be high, as many victims often do not report the crime out of shame or fear of being blamed.
What is particularly worrying is that around 91 percent of victims of sexual crimes are women, and in the case of rape even around 94 percent are women. In this context, it is alarming that adolescents and young women between the ages of 14 and 20 are considered to be most at risk. The high proportion of female victims points to gender-specific violence, which not only represents a challenge for the police, but also requires a task for society as a whole in order to push back traditional ideas of power.
The events in Nürtingen underline the urgency of both helping those affected and taking preventative measures. The social responsibility behind sexual assault is becoming increasingly clear. What solutions do we have up our sleeves to address such incidents? More than just short-term police measures are needed – a profound rethinking of society as a whole is required.
The police in Nürtingen are asking for the public's help in catching the perpetrator of the incident at the outdoor pool. If you have observed anything, please do not hesitate to get in touch.
