A comprehensive renovation of the B 462 is imminent in Baiersbronn. A new full closure is currently being announced, which is expected to last for a long time. At the same time, there were a number of topics at the last council meeting that affect the local community and provide food for discussion. But that's not all the meeting produced. In addition, income from the municipal correctional service exceeded previous expectations. The development of the development plan for the garden village and the situation around the Ringstrasse, particularly with regard to backlogs in Klosterreichenbach, were further points on the agenda.

Renovation details of the B 462

The renovation of the B 462 in Baiersbronn-Friedrichstal, which has been in full swing since the end of August 2022, is being carried out on behalf of the Karlsruhe Regional Council. Loud rpk The second construction phase of the most important measure will be opened to traffic on June 4, 2024. The renovation is particularly necessary due to the very high traffic load. District President Sylvia M. Felder emphasizes that these measures will increase traffic safety and reduce noise pollution.

Mayor Michael Ruf underlines the importance of barrier-free mobility with the new ramp system at the Friedrichstal stop. The renovation covers a total length of around 3.2 kilometers and includes the renewal of the roadway as well as the renovation of the road drainage and the barrier-free conversion of two bus stops.

Further developments in the community

The last meeting also discussed the development plan process for the Aue parking area, the containers in the Hahnbergweg development area and the situation around the cistern under the fire station. When it came to the fence around the Schelklewiese, it became clear that a permanent fence is not permitted under building law. Discussions about expanding the L 401 are ongoing, but no specific schedule has been set yet. In addition, planning for a roundabout at Baiersbronn train station, which had been postponed due to the garden show, was resumed. With the full closure in Friedrichstal, which is planned in 2026 in a further section for the expansion between the level crossing and the pit stop, there will be some changes for residents.
