How the Black Forest messenger reported, there was a white Christmas just in time for the holidays, which was crowned by a fresh easterly wind and light snowfall. These atmospheric conditions ensured that the roads were slippery at times and the gritting services had to show their commitment. Boxing Day was accompanied by a persistent blanket of fog that shrouded the city until the afternoon. On the Black Forest Hochstrasse, however, the sun shines with a blue sky.
The forecast for the upcoming weekend also promises sunny weather with temperatures around freezing point. Current meteorological forecasts indicate heavy snowfall at the turn of the year, especially at altitudes of 200 to 300 meters above sea level. In the highest elevations of the northern Black Forest, persistent snowfall can be expected until January 4th.
