Unnapa Chen shows a good hand for Heidelberg Castle, who took the initiative to make a generous donation after visiting the impressive building a year ago with friends and business partners. In spring 2025, Chen contacted the castle administration with their generous offer, which initially surprised the manager, Silke Eichhorn. With the amount of the donation in the high four-digit range, they contributed to the preservation of the castle and enabled the barrel cellar to be thoroughly cleaned, which was financed by the State Office for Assets and Construction, Mannheim / Heidelberg Office.

The barrel cellar is not only an essential point of contact for visitors to the castle, but to the delight of many, it also has a small gastronomic offering and a short film about the building's history. With new tables and chairs, the cellar now looks friendlier and has shed its old, outdated appearance. Heidelberg Castle itself is an architectural gem that reflects different eras of German architecture and attracts more than just tourists.
What's particularly notable is that the castle, located 300 feet above the city of Heidelberg, serves as both a historical structure and a breathtaking viewing location. Visitors can take a fantastic view of the Neckar River and the Rhine plain from the Great Terrace. The castle was built in 1300 and has attracted numerous onlookers every day since then.

The opening times are extremely generous: the inner courtyard and the large wine barrel are open daily from 8:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m., and the pharmacy museum invites visitors to find out about the history of pharmacy from 10:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. from April to October. A particular highlight is the Heidelberger Tun, the largest wine barrel in the world, which has an impressive capacity of 220,000 liters and even offers a dance floor on its deck.
The castle is also a popular address for wedding celebrations, and since 2009 it has been possible to celebrate the most beautiful day of your life in this fairytale setting. In addition, spectacular castle lighting with fireworks takes place several times a year, making for an unforgettable experience.
