Cultural Summer 2025 in Emmertsgrund: Free events for everyone!
Summer will be colorful and lively in Emmertsgrund! The second cultural summer starts on June 22, 2025 and takes place under the motto “Expanding horizons”. A diverse program awaits visitors until August 31st, which is offered in an inviting ambience on the forum area next to the community center and the HeidelBERG Café. The idea is clear: a place of culture, neighborhood and togetherness for young and old should be created [mrn-news.de].
The official opening of the cultural summer will be carried out by the well-known cultural mayor Martina Pfister. The program offers readings, concerts, dance performances, cinema evenings and even comedy. A special highlight will be the Galapagos Big Band's opening concert on June 22nd, followed by a performance by rapper Batdal54 together with Rrezik and Skinny Finsta on June 27th, where a young rapper contest will also take place.
Diverse program for everyone
The events are all free and include performances by many local artists and institutions. An open stage allows everyone to develop creatively. Anyone interested can register by email to David Hilkert from the Emmertsgrund district management to become part of the program. Information about this can be found on the Emmertsgrund website.
There will be exciting offers, especially in July and August. Many cultural highlights are planned, from open mic events to improvisational theater to an Indian dance theater. The open air cinema, which takes place on August 30th, will be an unforgettable evening. On the last day of the cultural summer we expect a reading by Minu Dietlinde Tizabi, followed by a concert with “Curry Beat”, which combines rock, funk and reggae.
The importance of promoting culture
The city of Heidelberg is supporting the 2025 cultural summer with around 9,000 euros. This initiative is part of a larger program funded by the Federal Cultural Foundation. The aim of the “LOKAL – Program for Culture and Engagement” project is to use long-term networks to strengthen culture in cities with fewer than 100,000 inhabitants. These cultural places should increasingly function as places of dialogue, with district associations and local institutions playing a key role, as the Federal Cultural Foundation also emphasizes.
The organizers are also calling for help and are looking for volunteers to help set up and dismantle the seating. Anyone who would like to contribute their hands and ideas can contact the organizers directly. The Emmertsgrunder Cultural Summer promises to be a place where people learn, laugh and celebrate together.
Be there and experience a summer full of culture and community!
