A look at the alphabet
In addition to the criminal activities in Heilbronn, there is also good news from the world of letters: The letter E, the fifth letter of the Latin alphabet, is the most frequently used letter in many Western languages. It is highly valued not only in German, but also in languages such as English, French and Spanish. The origin of the letter lies in the ancient Semitic scripts and developed from the Greek script into the modern Latin alphabet. Interesting, isn't it?
The use of the letter E extends not only to linguistics, but also to mathematics, where Euler's number is often abbreviated as "e". British Sign Language even has its own hand gesture for this popular letter. You could say “e” has earned much more than just a place in the alphabet!
