Speed camera marathon 2025: Where the new speed cameras are now in Karlsruhe!

“Speedweek” is in full swing across Germany from August 4th to 10th, 2025. This is an action week in which police and traffic authorities carry out increased speed checks to draw attention to the dangers of speeding. The most common causes of accidents are speeding drivers, which underlines the need for such controls. That reports ADAC.

This year the focus is particularly on accident-prone routes and endangered areas such as schools, kindergartens and retirement homes. Many drivers should therefore be careful, because the speed cameras are not only in large cities, but also on less frequented country roads. This measure falls during the summer holiday season, which leads to an increase in holiday traffic and therefore also increases the risk of speeding.

Latest reports about speed cameras in Karlsruhe

Numerous new speed cameras have now been reported in Karlsruhe. On August 6th, several locations were equipped with speed checks. Among other things, speed cameras can be found in theRittnertstrasse(tempo 30), as well as in theHertzstrasse(tempo 30) and on theA8near Palmbach (tempo 120). Road users should also pay particular attention to theBrewer Street(tempo 30) and on the L605 before the Bulach exit (tempo 70).

The police have already announced the first speeding violations: A Citroen driver exceeded the maximum permitted speed of 30 km/h on Schwarzwaldstrasse and was speeding at 101 km/h. 87 violations of the 70 km/h mark were also found on the K3575 in Bad-Schönborn, which once again illustrates the necessity of these measures.

The speed camera marathon nationwide

Across the country, several federal states are taking part in “Speedweek” this year. These include, among others, Hesse, Lower Saxony, Rhineland-Palatinate, Saxony-Anhalt and Schleswig-Holstein. Bavaria's participation is still in the balance, and in some cases federal states are foregoing participation, which still brings no surprises this year. In Hamburg, a mix of stationary and mobile speed cameras are used, while other regions such as Brandenburg focus on controlling motorcyclists.

The legal situation for drivers caught speeding remains unchanged: Anyone who drives faster than permitted not only has to expect fines, but can also have points added in Flensburg or even receive a driving ban. Road safety in Germany is a long-term goal that is continually brought into focus through such campaigns.

The action is also being carried out in several European countries, coordinated by the European traffic police network Roadpool. Traffic psychologists like Ulrich Chiellino emphasize the importance of role models in traffic and making drivers aware of their own driving habits.

In this regard, the opportunity for readers to report mobile speed cameras via email is also a valuable contribution to road safety. So it's up to all of us to be vigilant and take responsibility on the road. Stay safe and drive with foresight!
