A devastating fire on an agricultural property in Eriskirch resulted in a large-scale operation by the fire brigade on Saturday afternoon. The flames quickly spread to the stable, which has now completely burned down and remains only as a rubble of foundation walls. How Swabian Reportedly, numerous cattle died in the flames, while everyone was able to be brought to safety in time.
The fire service operation was extensive. Around 140 emergency services from various fire departments, including the Ereskirch, Friedrichshafen, Tettnang, Meckenbeuren and Kressbronn fire departments, were on site. The alert level has been increased from “F2” to “F3”, underlining the urgency of the situation. Four turntable ladders were also used to effectively control the flames. The fire brigade managed to protect the neighboring house from the flames while extinguishing work continued until late in the evening.
Animal loss and support
Unfortunately, there are no exact figures as to how many animals were housed in the stable and how high the loss actually is. The situation for the affected farmers is dramatic. In addition to the dead cattle, a veterinarian was also called in to care for the injured animals. The fire brigade was able to ensure the firefighting water supply by drawing water from the fire, which was crucial for the effectiveness of the firefighting. This demanding undertaking required the use of two portable pump pumps to convey the water several hundred meters to the site.
