HSG Konstanz fails after half-time lead – Neuhausen wins dramatically!
An exciting but ultimately unfortunate home game for HSG Konstanz, which was played on September 14th, 2025 against TSV Neuhausen/Filder. Despite a confident first half in which the Konstanz team took the lead with 19:16, they were unable to bring it to the finish line and lost 34:36. Before the game there was a moving moment of silence for the late employee Martina Hafner, which caused emotions to run high both on and off the field.
The encounter started promisingly for HSG, who immediately took a 2-0 lead. But the guests from Neuhausen didn't let themselves get down and took control of the game after a 6:5 deficit in the 10th minute. The big turning point came right after halftime: Neuhausen took the lead with a furious 4-0 run and let Konstanz fall behind. Managing director André Melchert criticized the weak performance in the second half and called for more commitment and a reduction in technical errors.
Key moments and player statistics
Mathieu Fenyö particularly shone in the first half, playing a key role in the 19:16 lead. In the second half, however, the HSG revealed large gaps in defense, which Neuhausen exploited unrestrainedly. Jorick Pohl in particular proved to be a key player for the guests and became the match winner. HSG goalkeepers Konstantin Pauli and Konstantin Poltrum had some promising saves in the first 30 minutes, but were often left alone.

Outlook for the next games
With the defeat, HSG Konstanz now has 2:2 points, while Neuhausen has 4:2 points. The Konstanzers have away games against TuS Fürstenfeldbruck and HG Oftersheim/Schwetzingen in the coming weeks. Coach Vitor Baricelli made it clear after the game that it is now important to learn from the mistakes made and increase intensity in order to be better prepared for the next challenges.
Despite the defeat, the audience in the Schänzle sports hall did not remain unimpressed: 800 spectators watched the dramatic game and were rewarded for their support, even in difficult times, with exciting moments on the field.
