Magdeburg's captain demands greed: We have to score goals!

There's a lot going on in the second division of the German football world. At the bottom of the table is 1. FC Magdeburg, who are fighting on the sidelines with new coach Petrik Sander (64). After two games without points or goals, the situation for the bottom of the table is extremely tense. The big thorn in the side is the offensive line, which is currently not shining. How Picture reported that the main problem is accuracy. Players like Alexander Ahl-Holmström have to perform below expectations, while Maximilian Breunig is looking for the necessary consistency.

Captains are often the mouthpiece of their teams, and so is Dominik Reimann (28). He says directly what is on his mind: there is a lack of greed to score goals. While some players have already missed good opportunities - would you like an example? Rayan Ghrieb missed several opportunities to put the ball in the net in the unfortunate 0-1 loss against Paderborn - Reimann appeals to his teammates to take the situation seriously and capitalize on their own opportunities.

A trainer with vision

Coach Sander's philosophy is clear: he relies on the existing players and wants to strengthen their responsibility instead of demanding new strikers. This approach could prove to be the key to turning things around as the team has already shown early signs of potential. Reimann is sure that improvements in training are necessary in order to find the way back to the top regions of the table.

There is also a trend emerging in the league: coaching changes are in full swing. Feverpitch points out that with the separation of Jan Siewert, the coach of SpVgg Greuther Fürth, the 14th change has already been made this season. Siewert only allowed his team to collect one point in five games - a clear sign that other teams are also under pressure and need to act decisively.

The situation in Magdeburg is not only a challenge for the players, but also for the coach. It remains to be seen whether Sander can turn things around and whether Reimann's call for greed will bear fruit. The next games will be crucial for the team's development and for the question of whether Magdeburg stays in the league or has to make the bitter transition to the lower leagues.
