Cycling from Lake Constance to the Rhine Falls: Adventure for 50plus!

On July 17, 2025, the Vorarlberg 50plus Hohenems association went on an exciting cycling trip from Konstanz to Schaffhausen, which offered the participants an unforgettable experience. The tour, led by the experienced guides Alwin and Viktoria, stretched over 66 kilometers and leads along picturesque routes along Lake Constance. Particularly noteworthy is the varied landscape that led through Radolfzell and Horn.

In Horn, the cyclists fortified themselves with regional specialties and refreshing drinks at the Gasthof Hirschen before continuing on to Stein am Rhein. The path along the Rhine not only offered breathtaking views, but also the opportunity to enjoy the impressive ambience of this region. Many participants were amazed by the idyllic surroundings and the charming places they passed.

A highlight: the Rhine Falls

When they arrived in Schaffhausen, the participants discovered the Rhine Falls, one of the most impressive natural beauties in Europe. The power of the water and the majestic backdrop of the waterfall amazed many visitors. Previously, on August 8, 2023, another group from VORARLBERG 50plus Lustenau undertook a similar tour. This also led from Radolfzell via Stein am Rhein and enabled cyclists to enjoy the beauty of the Höri peninsula and the Aachried nature reserve.

The route of the excursion took the group through picturesque towns such as Gaienhofen and Öhningen in brilliant weather, where they took a break in Stein am Rhein to enjoy a coffee outdoors and admire the artistically designed facades of the medieval old town.
