Teenager attacks woman in Grüttpark: police are looking for witnesses!

A worrying trend

Such incidents are part of a worrying trend in Germany. Although violent crime accounts for less than 4% of all recorded crimes, it has a strong impact on citizens' sense of security. The number of registered violent crimes has increased again since 2021 and is now almost a third above the low of 165,000 cases during the corona pandemic. In 2024, around 217,000 violent crimes were registered, the highest number since 2007. Among the suspects, around a third were younger than 21, which indicates an increase in young violent criminals, such as Statista notes.

The reasons for these alarming numbers are complex. Economic uncertainties and social stresses play a role, as do the ongoing psychological stress caused by Corona measures. This makes it all the more important that society works together to ensure safe and peaceful coexistence.

An incident like the one in Grüttpark reminds us to be vigilant and support each other. The investigation is ongoing and we hope that those responsible will be caught soon. Your safety is important to us, so keep your eyes open and report any suspicious sightings!
