On Tuesday evening, around 11 p.m., several witnesses reported a drunk driver in the Neuhermsheim district. The driver, who was driving a silver Daimler-Benz with a Darmstadt license plate, caused several accidents without reporting the respective damage. First he crashed into a parked Audi on Dragoon Lane and just kept driving. Even before the next collisions, he drove over a warning beacon at a construction site at the corner of Hermsheimer Strasse and dragged it with him to the junction with Husarenweg, as RNZ reports.
The amount of damage is estimated at over 8,000 euros. The Mannheim traffic service is now investigating suspicions of drunk driving and hit-and-run. Anyone who has further information or tips about the incident is asked to call 0621/174-4222.
