SV Waldhof Mannheim is in the round of 16 Baden State Cup achieved an impressive victory. The team beat SpVgg Neckarelz with a clear 7-1 dominance, with striker Terrence Boyd drawing attention with a real goal erosion. Boyd scored a sensational five goals and led his team to considerable success.

Change of coach under pressure
Boyd's performance comes at a crucial time. It was only on Monday Dominik Glawogger dismissed as coach of Waldhof Mannheim. Glawogger only took over the club in April 2025, but after a draw against SC Verl and a narrow 0-1 defeat against Hansa Rostock, the separation was inevitable. New coach Luc Holtz was presented on Tuesday.
In this tense situation, Terrier Boyd may have a new opportunity in the squad. Under Glawogger, the experienced striker – actually a pillar of the team – did not find a place in the squad. Previously, he only sat in the stands at the season opener against SC Verl and the game against FC Emmen. But the appearance in the cup may turn the tide for him.
The format of the Baden Cup
The Baden Cup, also known as the bfv-Rothaus-Pokal, is played in a knockout system.
