Graduation ceremony in Frommern: Brave students start a new phase of their lives!

On August 17, 2025, the students of the Frommern school group in Balingen will celebrate an important step in their lives: the completion of their schooling. At the ceremonial event, the graduates of the ninth grade received their secondary school diploma, while the tenth graders were released from school with the Werkrealschule certificate, the intermediate educational qualification. This day not only marks the end of a phase of life, but also the beginning of new paths and challenges.

The celebration was opened by deputy principal Sandra Ade-Heiner and moderated by committed students. Headmaster Kettner took the floor and spoke about the motto: “What would life be if we didn’t have the courage to risk something?” In his speech, he praised the courage, perseverance and commitment of the graduates, who have achieved a lot in both their professional and personal development. Kettner also thanked the parents, teachers and committed parent representatives who supported the students on their journey.

Special awards and honors

A special moment of the celebration was the awarding of the special prizes. The Werkrealschule state prize went to Nico and Leon Tscheschlock and Nick Weißkopf for their outstanding achievements and commitment. What is particularly noteworthy is that Leon and Nico Tscheschlock also received the Paul Schempp Prize and a special prize from the Religion Department. These awards recognize not only academic achievements, but also values such as responsibility, empathy and humanity that are upheld in the school community.

The class teachers Martina Brandalise, Alexander Maute and Volker Hahn use the opportunity to look back on the past few years with students and to emphasize the values such as respect and trust that were taught at school. Musical contributions, an impressive picture presentation and a champagne reception rounded off the celebration and provided a festive setting.

Important message for the future

A central message of the event was that courage, clarity and self-confidence are crucial when it comes to breaking new ground. At a time when challenges are great and pressure is high, it is important for graduates to recognize that speed is not always important. The focus is on personal development and the willingness to accept challenges.

In other parts of the world, football is also providing exciting moments: Richard Rios, a former Palmeiras player, and Igor Jesus, who previously played for Botafogo, have made their debuts in Europe. Rios was a regular in Benfica's game against Fenerbahçe and put in a strong performance, while Igor Jesus came on as a half-time substitute against Nottingham Forest. Although Nottingham lost to Fulham, his debut was well received by fans, showing that new ground is also being broken in sport.

The graduates in Balingen are enjoying their big day, while elsewhere young football talents are also taking on new challenges. Everyone moves into the next phase of life with courage and determination.
