Top events in the Ostalbkreis: Experience Halloween, music and Romans up close!

On the last weekend of October 2025, there will be a variety of exciting events in the Ostalbkreis, offering everything from fascinating exhibitions to rousing music. This is the perfect opportunity to do something together as a family or group of friends.

Today, October 31st, the scariest night of the year starts with the popular “Halloween Party” in the Apfelbaum in Aalen. The event begins at 10 p.m. and requires, or at least encourages, costumed guests. If you arrive early enough, you have the best chance of getting a spot and should also plan for public transport or a taxi to get back safely.

Musical sounds and enjoyment of art

How about a musical treat tomorrow? On November 1st, the Irish folk band The Kilkennys will perform in the Aalen town hall. The concert starts at 8 p.m. and it is recommended that you secure your tickets in advance. Arriving by car is also a good idea, as the parking spaces around the town hall are usually well stocked.

For art lovers there are very interesting exhibitions in both Aalen and Schwäbisch Gmünd. In the Limesmuseum Aalen, the special exhibition “Foreign Neighbors — Rome and the Germanic Peoples” runs until April 12, 2026. This exhibition sheds light on the relationships between Romans and Germanic peoples and provides exciting insights into the cultural exchange and conflicts of these two cultures. The opening times are from Friday to Sunday, from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Admission costs 6 euros for adults, 4 euros for concessions and 13.50 euros for families.

In Schwäbisch Gmünd, visitors can look forward to the exhibition “The Unicorns Made Me Do It” in the Galerie im Prediger, which is open this weekend from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Here guests can immerse themselves in the creative world of art - a wonderful place to explore the old town with its picturesque streets and St. John's Church.

Family-friendly offers and views

On Sunday, November 2nd, there are other interesting events on the program in the Ostalbkreis. In Lauchheim, the ZeitReise takes place at 11:30 a.m. in Kapfenburg Castle, while in Rainau-Dalkingen the tour “From Tower to Gate” awaits visitors at 1:30 p.m. These programs are ideal for families and offer exciting insights into the region.

Did you know that the Kapfenburg Castle Music School, together with many cultural workers in the Ostalbkreis, promotes cultural diversity? From galleries to museums to volunteer initiatives - there are many ways to experience the vibrancy of the region. A look at the Newsroom on the Ostalbkreis website can help you find out more about upcoming events.

So, grab your loved ones and enjoy the variety that the Ostalbkreis has to offer on this special weekend. A full schedule ensures that you never get bored!
