Traffic accident in Crailsheim: Postbus collides with Mazda!

Today, July 15, 2025, there is news from Crailsheim that should make everyone sit up and take notice. There was a right-of-way accident here on Monday morning around 11:30 a.m. that occurred on Max-Eyth-Straße.

A 42-year-old driver of a postal vehicle was driving when he intended to turn right onto Dieselstrasse. He may have overlooked a 52-year-old Mazda driver who had the right of way, which led to the two vehicles colliding. The material damage caused is estimated at around 4,000 euros. This information was published by the Aalen Police Headquarters and once again shows how important it is to keep an eye on traffic rules in order to avoid accidents. According to Statista, there were around 2.5 million road traffic accidents in Germany in 2024, with the number of accidents causing property damage increasing.

Traffic accidents in Germany

A look at the accident statistics of the last few years shows that the number of traffic deaths in Germany fell from 19,193 in 1970 to 2,770 in 2024. However, the challenge remains as the downward trend has slowed in recent years. In the context of this development, the EU transport ministers have announced the “Vision Zero” goal, which stipulates that there will be no more traffic deaths by 2050.

The most common causes of traffic accidents with personal injuries are insufficient distance, inadequate speed and driving under the influence of alcohol. In 2024, 40% of personal injury accidents were alcohol-related, with tragically 198 people losing their lives and 17,776 injured. In addition, the number of accidents involving e-bikes and e-scooters has increased, with 26,057 e-bike riders injured or killed last year, which should give us all pause.

More incidents in the region

But it's not just the traffic accident in Crailsheim that concerns the police. According to Presseportal, notable incidents happened in the region: Thursday morning, at 5:30 a.m., a 37-year-old cyclist fell on his Pedelec on a slippery road and sustained minor injuries. In addition, between 3 p.m. and Thursday 7:20 a.m. on Wednesday, a hut on a school site in Blaufelden was broken into, where a Kettcar was stolen, resulting in total damage in the mid four-digit range.

At the same time, there were also attempted thefts from cars in Crailsheim, in which two unknown persons came across the failed opening of several vehicles. It remains to be hoped that the police will quickly clarify these incidents and ensure security in the region.

Given the current situation, it is once again time to be more careful on the roads. Those who suffer from accidents are not only the people directly involved, but also their relatives and society, which suffers from the consequences. Every individual is called upon to do their part to support the vision of accident-free road traffic.
