Driver overturns on A8 - lucky in misfortune in Heimsheim!
On Monday evening, September 23, 2025, there was a spectacular accident on the A8 near Heimsheim. At around 9:30 p.m., a driver overturned her Honda. For reasons that are still unclear, the vehicle veered off the road to the right and landed on its roof next to the highway. A large contingent of the Heimsheim fire department was quickly on the scene to secure the scene of the accident and free the driver.
The good news: Despite the dramatic incident, the driver was uninjured. Although she was trapped in the vehicle, she was not trapped, which made rescue efforts easier. Firefighters used a rescue board to free her from her Honda. However, the car was totaled and had to be towed away. During the rescue, the right lane in the direction of Karlsruhe was closed, but the road is now clear again.
Fire service after a tire burst
The 25-year-old driver of the van was lucky and was able to get to safety in time. Unfortunately, three of the four cars were almost completely destroyed. The estimated total damage is around 90,000 euros. As a result, there was a traffic jam of around four kilometers as only the left lane could be used at that time. The road was reopened late on Friday evening.
