Pforzheim welcomes students with a 100 euro voucher and great goodies!

Starting your studies can be an exciting but also challenging time. This is exactly where the city of Pforzheim's efforts come in to make it easier for new students to get started. The city handed out the 500th welcome voucher on October 7th, 2025, which is an important milestone for this initiative. The voucher worth 100 euros was presented to Mira Keilbach, a student of the bachelor's degree in fashion, who recently moved to Pforzheim from the Rhein-Neckar district. Mira plans to use the voucher money primarily to visit restaurants and buy a book through Pforzheim. She also received an attractive goodie package with a picnic blanket, a snack box and regional delicacies  reports economic strength.

The vouchers are traditionally issued at the beginning of the winter semester, which this year started at the beginning of October. The city aims not only to support students, but also to actively integrate them into the city community. Mayor Peter Boch described the initiative as positive. >The tourist information office that issues the vouchers not only offers them, but also tips on leisure activities, culture and life in the city. Many students gratefully accept the offer and redeem their vouchers directly for city tours or to buy souvenirs explains the city of Pforzheim.

A celebratory anniversary and high demand

In particular, the bridge between Pforzheim University and the city is strengthened by the welcome vouchers. Rector Ulrich Jautz emphasized how positively the vouchers were received by the students. The high demand is reflected in the fact that the voucher has already been issued for the 100th time. This was presented to Annika Latza, a student in the Master's program in Corporate Communication, who also reported on moving from the Rhein-Neckar district to Pforzheim.
