Montfort Festival in Tettnang: A festival full of music, colors and history!

A whole weekend full of festive atmosphere and numerous attractions – the Montfort Festival in Tettnang attracted numerous visitors from July 4th to 6th, 2025. The starting signal for the historic children's and local festival was given on Friday evening when Mayor Regine Rist carried out the traditional tapping of the barrel in the park of the New Castle. Supported by the fanfare “Montfort”, “Graf Anton” from Tettnang and “König Wilhelm” from Langenargen, the stage was set to celebrate the 500-year legacy of the Counts of Montfort, who made a decisive contribution to the city's development.

The entire event was designed for a broad target group and offered a colorful entertainment program for both the little ones and adults. On Saturday, a variety of activities took place on the activity meadow: a ball pit and games of skill were just as popular as craft activities. Nine-year-old Finn presented his self-made skill game “Hot Wire” to festival visitors, which received great admiration. The musical entertainment was provided by various big bands and combos from the region and Denmark, while Alissa Marie and band set the tone with their pop and rock sounds.

A celebration for the whole family

The action meadow became the center of family entertainment. There were creative offers such as activities with Thomy, the globetrotter and a soldering course as well as numerous hands-on activities for all age groups. These offers were entirely free, which was very well received by visitors. On Saturday evening, a great fireworks display crowned the day, followed by a performance by the band Berghirsche, who invited the audience to celebrate with their music.

Sunday started with an ecumenical service, accompanied by the Tettnang town band, which introduced the festival in a contemplative way. The highlight of the Montfort Festival, however, was the impressive parade that started on Sunday at 11 a.m. and was opened by firecrackers. Almost 100 groups, including the Laimnau vigilante group, walked through the city in proudly decorated carts. The various topics such as “World of the Child”, “Our Daily Bread / Country Life” and “Tettnang Guilds” were presented in a creative way. The anniversary group “Rappertsweiler Bunch” also celebrated its premiere in the parade.

A positive balance

The initial assessment from the organizers and visitors was consistently positive. The amusement park and the culinary stands, which were run by local associations such as the Tettnang Volunteer Fire Department and the Bürgermoos Narrenzunft e.V., were very popular and offered a variety of food and drinks - from bearded sausage with fries to steak and sweet delicacies. The Montfort Festival, which was launched in 1948 to support the local economy after the war, continued to be a popular attraction for citizens and guests alike in 2025.

The Montfort Festival remains a symbol of Tettnang's living history and community. If you couldn't be there, you shouldn't miss the next celebrations!
