Potsdam Royals: Gameday with blood donation and free entry for heroes!
On August 16, 2025, an exciting event will take place in the stadium at Luftschiffhafen: the “Lotto Brandenburg Gameday”, in which the Potsdam Royals will compete against the ifm Ravensburg Razorbacks. It's not just about honor on the field, but also about good causes that make the event special.
The Potsdam Royals, reigning German football champions, are particularly committed during the game. They have been supporting DRK blood donation in their region for several years, and to celebrate Game Day they have launched a blood donation campaign together with the DRK. Anyone who donates blood at the Institute for Transfusion Medicine in Berlin or Potsdam between July 3rd and August 15th, 2025 has the chance to win two tickets for the home game. This commitment not only provides patients with vital blood products, but also brings the community together to raise awareness of the importance of blood donation. Jens Torsten Müller, President of the Potsdam Royals, emphasizes the club's social responsibility, which goes beyond the playing field and is evident in the goal of attracting blood donors to the stadium.
The game and the festivities
However, Gameday is not just about sport. The event is framed by a colorful fan festival, which opens at 2 p.m. with the band “Flashback Radio” and lasts until 9 p.m. In addition to the music, guests can look forward to many attractions, such as a bouncy castle and a kids corner, and a merchandise stand for red fan items also highlights the Color Rush campaign. The Royals and their fans will appear in full red gear in this campaign to show their solidarity and team spirit.
There is also a special incentive for the “everyday helpers” – including members of the Bundeswehr, police, DLRG and DRK –: They can take part free of charge and look forward to an informative festival with presentations of emergency vehicles and information stands.
The sporting challenges
In terms of sport, it will be hard work for the Potsdam Royals. They face the ifm Ravensburg Razorbacks, who are currently leaders. While Ravensburg started the season with two defeats, six games followed in which they only lost once. The team looks strong, with quarterback Broghean McGovern (#17) and important receivers like Anthony Harris (#1) and Tim Müller (#87) who will put the pressure on the Royals. For the Potsdam Royals, on the other hand, things are looking good with a recovered defense and offense, and their goal is clear: a win to start the season at full strength.
The Potsdam Royals and blood donation – a combination that shows how sport and social responsibility can go hand in hand. Support this initiative and enjoy an exciting football game!
