Understanding language: Training series for integration starts in Weingarten!
The integration of refugees is a top priority in Ravensburg: The training series “Strong Together! Skills for Committed & Curious People” starts in spring 2025 and is aimed at volunteers and those interested in refugee and integration work. As diescreenzeitung.de reports, the series includes a total of six modules that specifically address the needs of refugees.
The first date was on February 20, 2025 in the Matthäus community center, where speakers Oliver Dalinger and Laura Mener from the Hope Carriers Foundation gave an exciting lecture about “lived integration”. Anyone interested must register by the 30th day before the respective module. The next module will take place on June 26, 2025 in the Martin Luther Community Center in Weingarten, where the topic “Learning to understand language. Important basics of language acquisition” will be discussed.
Training content and target group
The training series is designed to cover various aspects of integration work. In addition to the language development component, there are other topics such as “Flight and Disability” and “Volunteering in an Intercultural Context”. Very important: anyone interested can take part in these events in order to deal with the challenges and opportunities of integration work. Language in particular is the key to integration, which the federal government also supports. In a publication on language promotion and integration, the Federal Ministry for Family Affairs emphasizes how important language teaching and social participation are, especially for women, children and young people with a migration background, as can be read on bmfsfj.de.
Diakonie OAB, Caritas Bodensee-Oberschwaben and the Evangelisches Bildungswerk Oberschwaben (EBO) organize this series with the clear aim of promoting integration and supporting voluntary work. Anyone who would like to actively participate can register free of charge until June 24, 2025. A voluntary participation contribution is requested, which makes the event easier for everyone to access.
Conclusion
The training series "Strong Together! Skills for Committed & Curious People" offers a valuable platform to exchange knowledge and learn new skills that are helpful when working with refugees. This shows that there is a great commitment to integration in Ravensburg, with the support of many regional organizations. Whether as a volunteer or someone interested, everyone is invited to become a part of this important process.
