Eschbronn takes off: new development plan for Ziegelhüttenweg approved!
There is exciting news in the Eschbronn municipal council! On July 18, 2025, the statutory resolution on the development plan for the “Ziegelhüttenweg commercial area” caught. Only a short time later, an initial building application for a company building with two usage units made the rounds. This progress clearly shows that the community is well on its way to further stimulating economic development.
But that's not all. According to a report from the municipality of Eschbronn, the “Ziegelhüttenweg” development plan was approved together with the local building regulations. The decision to set up this important plan was made on July 31, 2018 and the whole thing was made public that same year. Early participation of the public and authorities took place in September and October 2018, which led to the creation of an active dialogue with citizens who show a great interest in the future design of their living space.

The draft development plan was finally approved on January 16, 2024, followed by a public display of the draft and the building regulations between January 29 and March 1, 2024. The local council then dealt with the information received on July 23, 2024, and the Freiburg regional council's request to avoid an agglomeration of large-scale retail in the construction area was also incorporated into the draft development plan recorded. This required a new disclosure, which took place in August 2024. With the current resolution and announcement, the development plan has now acquired legal force and creates the basis for future construction projects in this area.

While the development plan in Ziegelhüttenweg is moving, the municipality of Eschbronn is also planning urban renovation measures in “Mariazell Ortsmitte”. Preparatory investigations are carried out in accordance with the building code in order to identify existing defects. Property owners can look forward to information on July 28, 2025, which also includes costs of €8,400 (net) for the commissioned STEG Stadtentwicklung GmbH from Stuttgart.
In addition, Stadtwerke Schramberg GmbH & Co. KG has applied for renewed water law permission to withdraw water from the deep wells Mariazell I and II, with the aim of securing the water supply in the Schramberg urban area for the next 30 years. A topic that worries many agricultural businesses, as the water protection area covers almost the entire town of Mariazell and could affect some agricultural areas.
So things remain exciting in the region and the local council's decisions will make it possible to support development and create a good feeling for the citizens.
