Good news for the youth group of the Rottweil local branch of the Technical Relief Organization (THW): They can look forward to a generous donation of 1,500 euros, which was handed over by the Rottweil Lions Club. President Harald Sailer handed over the amount with the aim of improving the training and equipment of the young helpers and supporting the preparations for the camp in 2026. “The interaction between volunteers, supporters and sponsors is essential for youth work,” emphasized youth leaders Jenny and Simon Lutz when accepting the donation together with three other members of the youth group.
The financial donation reflects the values of the Lions Club, which is committed to providing support in emergencies not only regionally but also internationally. Under the motto “we serve”, the Lions engage in voluntary work and focus on cosmopolitanism, tolerance and friendship. The Rottweil Lions Club was founded in November 1956 and maintains close relationships with other clubs, including historical ties to a club in Switzerland.
Volunteering pays off
The THW youth group in Rottweil has made it its mission to promote technology and willingness to help. Children aged six and over can get actively involved and learn to use technical equipment and help in an emergency under the guidance of experienced instructors.
