TC Rottweil Men 40 celebrate a great victory and come third in the table!

The men's 40s of the Rottweil tennis club started the 2025 season last weekend with a convincing 6:3 win against TC Güglingen. They ended up in third place in the Regionalliga Süd-West and can look back on a successful season. This is reported by the Black Forest messenger.

The encounter was characterized by exciting individual matches. While Martin Mayer lost against Christopher Scheidt 4:6 and 6:7, his teammates were able to convince with strong performances. Boris Bräunlin won 6:3 and 3:0 against Marc Dürr. Sebastian Schaller showed his class and won 6:2, 6:3 against Stefan Bohlayer. Phil Laiple also triumphed over Alexander Scheidt 6:4, 6:1, and Stephan Pfau secured victory against Achim Dürr 6:3, 6:2. After these individual games, the TCR was already 4-2 ahead.

Strategic double formation

To secure the win, the doubles lineup was changed, which turned out to be a stroke of luck. Martin Mayer and Phil Laiple won their doubles match 6:4, 6:4 and thus earned further points. Boris Bräunlin and Sebastian Schaller were also successful, winning 6:4, 6:3. Unfortunately, Markus Jauch and Stephan Pfau had to admit defeat in the match tiebreak, but they were still very happy about the overall victory. Despite the defeat, the men 40 can look back on a successful performance.

The achievements of the men 40 are part of an overall diverse club landscape, which is characterized by numerous age groups and tournaments. In the summer of 2025, the men's 65 and men's 60 will also be active at TC Rottweil, while the women's team and the youth teams will also compete in exciting battles. In District C, the men's 70s cannot be beaten and are in first place with an impeccable record of 5:0 points.
