A serious traffic accident occurred on Friday, August 10, 2025, at around 2:45 p.m. in Crailsheim. The driver of a Lotus, a 67-year-old man, was driving on the roundabout on Haller Strasse in the direction of Willy-Brandt-Strasse when he overlooked a 59-year-old cyclist who was crossing the road. The collision resulted in the cyclist being thrown over the hood of the vehicle. After the accident, however, the driver left the scene of the accident without permission without caring about the well-being of the injured cyclist. It was only a short time later that the driver, who was under the influence of alcohol, was identified. He had to undergo a blood test and his driver's license was taken away.
