Young musicians shine at the autumn concert in Triberg on November 2nd!
On Sunday, November 2nd, the traditional autumn concert of the symphony orchestra of the St. Georgen/Furtwangen Youth Music School (JMS) will take place in the Kurhaus Triberg. The organizer is the Rotary Club Furtwangen/Triberg, which is celebrating its 40th anniversary this year. Under the direction of Elias Zuckschwerdt, music school director and conductor, around 45 young musicians will be on stage and present a varied program. Listeners can look forward to Antonín Dvořák's famous symphony “From the New World” and, based on it, his Slavic Dances. It will be particularly exciting with the film music highlights from “Harry Potter” and “Polar Express”, which will take the audience into other worlds. In addition, Henry Purcell's Abdelazar Suite will be presented in a special performance by a smaller string ensemble.
Intensive rehearsals during the fall break prepared the orchestra optimally for these performances. The anticipation is great because the young talents could already be heard at concerts in Furtwangen and St. Georgen in the summer. If you don't want to miss the event, you can buy tickets in advance - including at the Tourist Information in Triberg, in the Haas bookstore in St. Georgen and in the Morys bookstore in Furtwangen or directly at the youth music school.
Program and ticket prices
The ticket prices are family-friendly: adults pay 12 euros, reduced tickets are available for 5 euros and a special ticket for 25 euros is available for families.
These concerts are not only a wonderful opportunity for young musicians to showcase their talent, but also an important event for the region, promoting cultural exchange and musical education. Ulrike Vogt, who has been Chair for Public Relations in District 1930 since 2020 and will be Rotary Public Image Coordinator for Zones 15+16 from 2025, particularly emphasizes the importance of events like these. Together with her husband Thomas Vogt, she leads the “Music for Peace” initiative, which brings together young musicians from Russia and Germany.
A few years ago, the symphony orchestra received a touching award for its ongoing youth work, and this year the series of performances will continue with a highlight in the Kurhaus Triberg. The overall musical direction is Pascal Pons, who is supported by experienced colleagues from the youth music school. The variety of styles, from classic to well-known film hits, will certainly delight the audience this time too.
For music lovers, it is a must-do program that underlines the cultural wealth of the region and highlights young talent. Be there and treat yourself to a top-class musical evening on a Sunday!
