Lately, Playmobil's Black Forest Marie has caused a lot of excitement in the Schwarzwald-Baar district. At the end of October, the coveted figure was completely sold out within a few hours. This was reported by Jens Großkreuz, head of the communications department at Schwarzwald Tourismus GmbH. He further explained that the first edition of this special figure was not sold out so quickly in August, so the unexpected rush for the second edition came as a surprise.

Although the shelves are now empty, there are still a few copies available, but of course not everywhere. In Freiburg in particular, sales took noticeably longer than in the entire Schwarzwald-Baar district.

Plans and wishes

While Großkreuz pointed out the positive cooperation between Schwarzwald Tourismus GmbH and Playmobil, wishes from fans were already voiced. Many would like to see an expansion of Playmobil's "Black Forest universe", including a male counterpart to the Black Forest Marie or even a Black Forest farm. However, Großkreuz emphasizes that any additions can only be initiated by the Zirndorf company. Nevertheless, the door is open for discussions.

A third edition of the Schwarzwald-Marie is currently not planned in order to avoid possible weariness. But for all those who don't want to wait for the next chance, there is positive news: the figure will be available worldwide in the Playmobil web shop from the end of the month. The question remains all the more exciting as to whether this new edition will contain the Black Forest Tourism logo and the recipe for the well-known Black Forest cake.

A personal connection

Großkreuz himself is a big fan of Playmobil and remembered playing with the figures in his childhood. What was particularly amusing was that his son pointed out to him that there was also a Black Forest Marie with a black hat. This little anecdote led them to purchase a second figure and creatively customize the hat.
