The merger of VR Bank Donau-Oberschwaben with Raiffeisenbank Bad Schussenried-Aulendorf is bringing about some changes in the banking business that will not be missed by customers in the region. As the Swabian newspaper reported, the legal merger was entered in the cooperative register on October 2nd. Even though the bank continues to operate under the name VR Bank Donau-Oberschwaben eG, customers will face some challenges starting next weekend.

The technical consolidation of customer portfolios will take place from November 7th to 9th. During this time, the Raiffeisenbank Bad Schussenried-Aulendorf branches and the VR Bank branch in Aulendorf will be closed on November 7th. VR Bank employees will temporarily move into the former Raiffeisenbank building. The customer center will also not be available on this day.

What can customers expect?

During this transition phase, customers must expect short-term restrictions. Online banking in particular will not be available from 8 p.m. on November 7th until probably Sunday. The self-service machines have restrictions on withdrawal amounts and the account service terminals will be out of service on November 8th until late Saturday afternoon.

An important point for all Raiffeisenbank customers: You will receive new IBAN numbers and account numbers. However, this happens without any major effort on their part; as the VR banking As explained, all incoming payments and direct debits are automatically booked with the new bank details. The old IBAN will be automatically redirected for the next five years so that there are no interruptions in payment transactions.

Tips for the future

Despite all the offers of help, some customers have to take action themselves. In particular, they should update their account details with certain companies, such as the tax office or online shops. A list of major depositors who will be notified of the changes will be provided in a timely manner.

For interested customers, the bank offers additional information on its website at www.vrdo.de/fusion/faq. The change may require some getting used to, but with a little planning the effects on everyday life can be easily managed. It is to be hoped that all members of the new banking community will quickly find their place and accept the changes positively.
