Construction site on B 32 in Scheer ends earlier: traffic free from Thursday!
Good news for drivers in Scheer: The construction work on the B 32 is almost complete and it will be opened to traffic on Thursday afternoon, October 30th, one day earlier than originally planned. This reports Schwäbische.de.
The extensive renovation brought with it various challenges, but according to the Tübingen regional council there were no problems during the work. The road surface was renewed over a stretch of around 2.8 kilometers. The measures affected both the Scheer through town and the section between Scheer and Ennetach.
Extensive renovation work
The need for this work was clear as the previous condition of the road was characterized by significant cracks and compression. In order to repair the damage, the binder, surface and, in some cases, base layers were replaced. The renovation was carried out in three phases:
- Bereich von der Kreuzung Im Olber und der Mengener Straße bis zur Einmündung der Scheerer Straße in Ennetach.
- Abschnitt entlang der Mengener Straße von der Einmündung Rote Steige bis zur Kreuzung Im Olber.
- Ortsdurchfahrt Scheer: Sigmaringer Straße zwischen Einmündung Binger Straße und Querungshilfe bei den Bushaltestellen.
In total, the costs for the road renewal amounted to around 1.6 million euros, which were financed by the federal government. During the construction period, the federal highway had to be completely closed in sections. Local traffic was rerouted via Rulfingen and Krauchenwies to the B 311 and on to Sigmaringen. Bus services also had to contend with diversions via Heudorfer Straße, Jahnstraße and Lorettoweg.
Additional infrastructure work
Parallel to the road renovation, the city of Scheer also took the opportunity to lay empty pipes for broadband expansion. On top of that, old water pipes as well as house connections and manhole covers were replaced. This will not only strengthen the roads, but also the digital connections in the region.
The construction work is not only an aesthetic upgrade for the residents, but also ensures a modern infrastructure. And while some are waiting for spring to explore the new cycle paths, most of which were able to pass through the construction site without any problems, others are happy to soon be able to regain their usual paths without diversions - this is how things are moving forward in Scheer!
The positive development around the construction site shows once again that a good hand in urban planning is worth its weight in gold, true to the motto: “Good things take time, but they are worth it!”
