Braunenweiler celebrates 750 years: A celebration of history and culture!
In the small village of Braunenweiler the signs are pointing to celebrations! From June 24th to 29th, the 750th anniversary will be honored here with all sorts of activities and a colorful festival program. The organization runs under the direction of local mayor Markus Sommer and Berthold Stützle, supported by a committed six-person festival committee. The idea is clear: the history of Braunenweiler should be brought to life, both for the locals and for the numerous visitors.
A highlight of the festival will be a festive course where participants can immerse themselves in the history and development of the village at twelve stations. Michael Skuppin, a well-known face in the region, will lead the guided journey through time. In addition to this special tour, an exhibition on 750 years of history will also be presented in the parish hall, town hall, school, church and kindergarten. The tours will start on June 24th and are eagerly awaited by the organizers.
Holidays full of action and music
Things really get going on Friday, June 27th with the official tapping of the barrel by Mayor Raphael Osmakowski-Miller at 7 p.m. The musical accompaniment ranges from rousing polka to rocking sounds, so there is something for every age group. A special attraction will be the experiences of medieval camp life, which will amaze you on Friday and Saturday.
On Saturday the festivities will be in full swing from 10am. The program promises an experience for young and old: everything is included, from a historical market with over 20 stalls to knight games and a fairytale stage. The children can particularly look forward to the “Kids on Stage” performance, where 60 young talents will perform the anthem for the anniversary. The detailed program is also worth a look.
Special features that will be remembered
The weekend highlights continue with musical fireworks and various activities. Festival visitors can demonstrate their skills at goal wall shooting and light rifle shooting, among other things. Of course, the culinary delights are not neglected either: local establishments invite guests to indulge in delicious specialties and properly enjoy the festivities.
If the weather cooperates, this anniversary will definitely be unforgettable for everyone in attendance. Above all, the organizers want many visitors to celebrate this special moment together with the people of Braunenweiler.
The time-honored inn “Rössle” is reopening to mark this anniversary – a perfect place to round off the day’s experiences in a convivial atmosphere.
Celebrating such a festive event reminds us of the importance of tradition and community. With this in mind it means: Off to the festive season in Braunenweiler, where history comes to life!
