Hans Miller turns 90: A life full of passion and commitment!
On July 15, 2025, Hans Miller was able to celebrate a very special celebration: his 90th birthday. Surrounded by family and numerous guests, he celebrated a lavish party at his home on Kettenacker Strasse in Feldhausen, which was filled with warm congratulations and memories. In particular, the mayor, Hans Steinhart, did not miss the opportunity to convey the best wishes from the city of Gammertingen and the Feldhausen local administration and presented the jubilarian with a present that recognized his achievements. Josef Heißel, fire brigade commander of the senior fire brigade, also congratulated Hans on behalf of his fire brigade colleagues and expressed his respect and recognition for his decades of support in the fire brigade.
Hans Miller, who was born in Feldhausen in 1935 as the eldest of four children, grew up in a family business that included both a quarry and an agricultural farm. From an early age he got involved mentally in the family business and supported his parents. He also helped in the forest in the winter months and gained his first experiences with nature, which later took a permanent place in his heart. For over 20 years he was active in land consolidation in the region and actively advocated for the interests of his fellow human beings.
Family and social commitment
In 1963, Hans married his wife Theresia, who died in 2024. This marriage resulted in four children, five grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. This colorful family was always an important support for Hans, who was not only a loving husband and father, but also active in many other areas. His passion for singing was evident for over 50 years in the church choir and during his membership in the men's choir, where he took a permanent place as an active singer. He was also a committed member of the fire department for 32 years and is still a member of the senior fire department today.
However, his activities were not limited to singing and firefighting. Hans Miller lives for work on the farm and in the forest - two areas that have always brought him a lot of joy and, in his opinion, still provide great meaning. These heartfelt preferences are reflected in his fit and active lifestyle.
A role model for his community
The event was not only a beautiful occasion to celebrate Hans, but also a moment to honor his life story, which is characterized by enduring commitment to the community. Hans Miller is a living example of how important it is to actively work for the good of the place while pursuing your own passions. His love for nature and his singing have moved and shaped generations.
Another notable case that highlights the importance of volunteering is Ludwig Reich, known as “Hansen Luck,” who also recently celebrated his 90th birthday. He played a key role in shaping his home community of Ehenfeld over the decades and was active in a wide variety of organizations. While Hans Miller passionately looked after his farm and his family, Ludwig Reich was involved in the fire department, the sports club and as a hunting director. Like Hans, Ludwig has also given up his last honorary positions, but remains a valued contact for the history of his region. Such personalities show how much volunteerism and passion for the common good unite, which strengthens cohesion in communities.
In summary, both Hans Miller and Ludwig Reich show how important it is to take on social responsibility and that commitment to both one's own well-being and that of the community is a valuable enrichment for life. These birthday celebrations are not only celebratory occasions, but also a living testimony to the work done with heart and hand in the village and city communities.
