New residential complex in Sigmaringen: demolition of the old buildings is imminent!
Something big is currently happening in Sigmaringen: space is being created for new living space at the intersection of Binger Straße and Schützenstraße. The venerable houses, which are over 100 years old, have to go to make way for a three-story residential complex. Sandra Späh, managing director of the Späh Seals group from Scheer, is responsible for this ambitious project. As the Swabian reports, Späh has now bought the old buildings from real estate agent Kleiner from Krauchenwies as well as an adjacent property from the city.
Späh gave the first sign of life on her social channels as early as May 2023 when she published a view of the houses she had acquired and drew attention to the upcoming project with the note “New project in the pipeline”. At the end of October 2023, the project was on the local council's agenda because the existing plans violated the development plan in force since 1986, which limits the number of floors to two.
Approval despite resistance
The city administration has proposed making a partial change to the development plan to make the project possible. The local council unanimously agreed to this proposal, which shows that Sigmaringen is serious about taking the step into the future. However, an exact date for the demolition and subsequent start of construction is still unclear. Späh wants to announce further information about the residential project in the new year.
This is not the first time for the entrepreneur that she has become active in Sigmaringen: in 2021 she opened the “Aunt and Emma” unpackaged shop, which, however, was closed again in 2023. The new residential complex could be important in improving the living situation in Sigmaringen and meeting the need for modern living spaces.
