TSV Uhlbach: Four-time award for outstanding volunteer work!
A bright day for TSV Uhlbach: The club has once again secured the club volunteer award from the Stuttgart/Böblingen football district and has triumphed for the fourth time. This award was given for the impressive redesign of the sports facility, which was carried out by the members themselves. The club grounds, located on the charming Götzenberg with a view of the grave chapel on the Württemberg, offer not only a sports field, but also a variety of leisure activities such as a playground, a boules court, a beach volleyball court and a halfpipe. Community is very important here!
This is reported by the Stuttgart News. With around 1,400 members, TSV Uhlbach is one of the largest clubs in the Stuttgart district and offers a wide range of sports - from football to children's gymnastics to gymnastics. Christoph Metzger, who has been active in the football department since 1977 and was appointed to the DFB's “Club 100” in 2014, is an outstanding example of the long-standing commitment that characterizes the club.
A place of meeting
The newly designed sports facility is not only a sporting hotspot, but also a popular meeting place for families and neighbors. The many activities organized by members strengthen community cohesion. The projects, some of which are voluntary, show how important commitment is to club life. Especially in today's world, it is important that sports clubs function as places of community, as well as in one Study on sustainability in sports clubs is cited.
But not everything goes smoothly. The sports sector in Germany has lost around a million volunteers since 2014. Challenges caused by bureaucracy and changing lifestyles make it difficult for many associations to mobilize volunteers. These are the heart of every sports club and are crucial for the variety of offerings.
Looking into the future
TSV Uhlbach is aware of this problem and is already planning upcoming projects, including additional changing rooms and an energy-efficient renovation of the cabin wing. These plans are still up in the air, but they show the club's willingness to continue working actively and sustainably in the future.
Taking into account the many challenges, those responsible also see opportunities. Sustainability and volunteerism go hand in hand and can help to further consolidate the club's tradition and attract new members. The official website of TSV Uhlbach offers information about upcoming events, such as the youth sports camp in the last week of summer vacation or the annual general meeting that is coming up soon.
TSV Uhlbach proves once again that commitment and a sense of community form the basis for a lively sports club. During Christmas, a time of community, it becomes particularly clear how important the work of volunteers is and that every step counts. Because without the many helping hands, such club life would simply not be possible!
