Family-friendly French Film Days: Art and fun from October 29th until 5.11.
This week Tübingen will be transformed into a mecca for film fans, as the 42nd edition of the French Film Days will take place from October 29th to November 5th. This event not only attracts cineastes to the city, but also extends to Reutlingen, Rottenburg and Stuttgart. Almost 200 film screenings are on the varied program, which is aimed at families and includes numerous child-friendly offers. The new festival director Lisa Haußmann has prepared a variety of highlights with fresh enthusiasm.
The special attractions include the Family Saturday in Stuttgart and the Family Sunday in Tübingen, which are intended to offer the little guests variety. A total of around 70 films will be shown, including many dubbed or with subtitles in order to appeal to a wider audience. The focus is not only on French film, but also on productions from the African continent, which underlines the international character of the festival. An exciting showcase of the work of French director Léonor Serraille, who will be present in person, promises additional insights into her creative processes.
Film and music in focus
A special highlight is the festival section “Film and Music”, which celebrates the unique connection between the two art forms. The classic 1925 film “Paris qui dort” is shown here, accompanied by live music from Eunice Martins and Abril Padilla. In addition, discussions with 20 international filmmakers ensure stimulating exchanges and deeper insights into the film scene.
In addition to the film screenings, there are also games in the cinemas waiting for visitors. Children aged five and over should get their money's worth with interactive elements and events in the foyer. The international jury will also choose their favorite film and thus honor the best entries at the festival.
A look into the distance: Salem and Jamaica
While the film festival in Tübingen attracts everyone's attention, the famous Haunted Happenings Festival is in full swing in Salem, Massachusetts. Attracting more than a million tourists every year, it offers a range of spooky attractions including guided tours, lively entertainment and a colorful market with over 200 artisans. The attractions are designed to immerse visitors in the history of the Salem Witch Trials and create a spooky atmosphere.
At the same time, the Caribbean island of Jamaica offers plenty of fantastic beaches and exotic experiences for travelers. From luxurious resorts to adventurous tours of the tropical landscape, Jamaica attracts vacationers with the promised combination of relaxation, culture and adventure.
