Trial over the death of a 25-year-old: partner charged!
A dramatic trial began on Monday morning in the Tübingen regional court, moving the public through the shocking circumstances. A 46-year-old man is suspected of killing his 25-year-old partner from Bad Teinach-Zavelstein. The young woman's body was found just a few months ago, on September 27, 2024, in a forest area near Bad Teinach-Zavelstein. Before her disappearance, she had been missing since September 2nd after she was last seen near her home. The partner had previously published a missing person's report on social media, but this soon turned out to be a vain hope, reports SWR.
After the body was discovered, the Pforzheim police arrested the partner just four days after it was found. He was immediately taken into custody and now has to answer for manslaughter. The accusation according to the Tübingen public prosecutor's office: the killing of the woman after an argument on the fatal evening of September 2nd. To date, the exact cause of death has not yet been conclusively clarified; it remains under investigation by the police and the special “Deer” commission, which was set up specifically for this case. The investigation is ongoing and the police continue to ask witnesses for information, particularly from the forest area between Emberg, Schmieh and Rötenbach.
An increase in violent crime
The tragedy also sheds light on the general situation of violent crime in Germany. In recent years there has been a worrying trend: according to an analysis by Statista Around 217,000 violent crimes were registered in 2024 - the highest number since 2007. While the rates of violent crimes have fluctuated over the years, they have increased significantly since 2021. This could be due to, among other things, economic uncertainties or social pressures. Although the police were able to solve acts of violence in over 75% of cases, many citizens still feel an increasing threat from violence.
As recently as 2023, over 2,740 acts of violence against rescue workers were recorded, which underlines the explosive situation in our society. A survey showed that 94% of Germans perceive violence and aggression against people from politics, the police and the rescue service to be a major problem Black Forest messenger.
The defendant's trial is expected to last until July 10 before a verdict is reached. Society can look forward to seeing what answers and insights this case will bring to light.
