Senftenberg theater management changes: Felsmann and Finkel to Tübingen!
A lot will change for the Neue Bühne Senftenberg in the coming future. At the end of the 2026/27 season, two members of the artistic management team will leave the stage to take on new challenges. Chief dramaturg Karoline Felsmann will take over as director of the Landestheater Tübingen from September 2027, while in-house director Elina Finkel is aiming for the position of senior director there. This reports Niederlausitz Current. Together with artistic director Daniel Ris, they have formed the creative trio of the Neue Bühne since the 2022/23 season.
The application process, which was completed in January 2023, included 52 candidates, from which Felsmann was ultimately chosen as the new director. Both artists will continue to work with full commitment in Senftenberg until they move. Daniel Ris was positive about the changes and sees them as promising steps for the professional development of his colleagues.
An exciting series of premieres is about to begin
The new season at the Neue Bühne Senftenberg is off to a promising start - more than 14 premieres are on the program, and the program was presented by Daniel Ris, the future artistic director. The opening takes place on September 30th with the “Neue Heimat” festival, which will be performed at several locations in the garden city of Marga (including the colliery house, church and gymnasium) until October 9th. The pieces shown include contemporary works that bring a breath of fresh air into the theater landscape, such as Radio Lausitz reported.
Theater fans can look forward to the first performance in the newly designed bar in the foyer: “One way or another – Hildegard Knef” will premiere there on November 18th. Families can also look forward to a Christmas fairy tale in 2023: “Beauty and the Beast” will be shown from November 19th.
