Run for a good cause: Tuttlingen is celebrating run&fun 2025!
Something big is coming again in Tuttlingen - the run&fun sporting event, which will take place on the banks of the Danube from June 25th to 29th, 2025. The WILD WINGS, known for their exciting ice hockey campaign, are guests of their main sponsor KARL STORZ and bring the sporty atmosphere with them. Fortunately, a total of 220 active KARL STORZ participants have registered, making the team one of the largest running teams in the region.
The participants in the five-kilometer run not only achieve top sporting achievements, but also set an example for social responsibility. Every kilometer walked is converted into a donation. The KARL STORZ Foundation donates one euro for every kilometer - a great opportunity to do something good together. Last year, a sum of 4,000 euros was collected for the Tuttlingen Child Protection Association.
Program highlights and children's activities
There is a colorful mix of activities for sports enthusiasts and families. On Sunday, June 29th, there will be an exciting autograph session with the WILD WINGS players from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. Anyone who would like to show off their ball skills can take part in the goal wall shooting with the WILD WINGS Futures on Saturday, June 28th between 2 p.m. and 5 p.m.
But the event doesn't just offer something for adults: for younger visitors there are sustainable balloons, colorful children's tattoos and even an endoscopy trainer - an exciting opportunity for inquisitive children to learn more about medicine. In addition, a creative photo box made from discarded KARL STORZ devices ensures lasting memories.
Sport and social responsibility
In addition to the sporting idea, the run&fun event also promotes social engagement within the community. Nowadays it is more important than ever that sports offerings bear special responsibility and also promote social justice, as discussed in the study “Sport in Social Responsibility” by Bianca Becker, Tim Bindel and Sarah Heinisch. The discourse about how sport can address social inequalities and offer solutions is becoming more and more important.
The beginnings of such projects show how sports offers can specifically appeal to disadvantaged young people and what positive impact they have on our society. Events like run&fun bring people together through shared sport and fun, thereby strengthening the sense of community.
