The VerenaLauf 2025 recently took place in bright sunshine and ideal temperatures. Over 200 participants, including children, amateur runners and professionals, took part and tried out various distances: 500 m, 1 km, 2 km for the youngest, as well as 5.3 km and the demanding main run over 10.6 km. Since its inclusion as part of the Silberdistel Albcup in 2019, the VerenaLauf has become a real highlight in the runners' calendar. This year the award ceremonies were celebrated in the award ceremony at the Verenahalle, which rounded off the day in a fitting way.
The performance of Andreas Schindler was particularly impressive, winning the main run over 10.6 km with a remarkable time of 37:20 minutes and setting a new course record in the process. Marcel Stähler followed him in the 5.3 km distance, where he was also able to celebrate victory with a time of 19:29 seconds. Sandra Stahl was the fastest in walking over 10.6 km, while Patricia Lutz won the 5.3 km walking competition.
A challenge for everyone
The running route was described by the athletes as extremely challenging, especially due to the high incline, which demanded a lot from the participants. What was particularly pleasing was the new record number of participants in the children's run, which featured almost 86 young runners. At the top of the children's run were Constantin Lehmann (2 km, 08:26), Sina Vogler (1 km, 03:55) and Ida Mardek (500 m, 2:05).
The organization of the VerenaLauf was supported by numerous sponsors, who gave the event a solid foundation. These include the Schwarz Expert Advisory Office, Sikla, Kreissparkasse Tuttlingen and many more. The Hausen ob Verena gymnastics club expressed its heartfelt thanks to all partners who contributed to the successful implementation of the event.
Silberdistel Albcup – a renowned series
The VerenaLauf is not only an independent event, but also an integral part of the Silberdistel Albcup, a top-class running series in Baden-Württemberg. This includes seven diverse events that take place from March to October and offer both individual and team competitions. The runners can look forward to many exciting challenges, including the Schömberger Volkslauf on April 13, 2025 as well as numerous other events in Albstadt, Hausen ob Verena, Bösingen and other cities. The four best running results will be taken into account for the overall ranking, and the best participants will receive attractive non-cash prizes as well as honorary prizes for continuous performance.
The VerenaLauf 2025 was not only a complete success for the participants, but also an exciting event for the entire region, which once again shows how much passion and commitment goes into the major running events.
