Lead DM 2025: Apel and Nagel crown themselves champions in Neu-Ulm!
The DAV climbing world in Neu-Ulm was the venue for the German lead climbing championships last weekend. An event that not only attracted talented athletes, but also provided an exciting conclusion to the 2025 competition season. With 33 women and 32 men at the start, we took on the highest walls and the spark quickly ignited. Anna Maria Apel from Munich-Oberland and Yannick Nagel from DAV Mannheim showed outstanding performances and were crowned champions in their categories.
The championships came at just the right time and are known to many as the national highlight of the year. After the title fights in bouldering in March and speed climbing in August, the DM in Lead was the last big event. The athletes had to prepare for strenuous overhangs and technical challenges, which were described in detail in the route description. Titans like Apel and Nagel took on the difficult tasks and managed to captivate the audience with their concentration and skills.
