Police stop poser meeting: Ulm remains calm, vehicles checked!

In the last few days, the streets around Ulm have become a real hotspot. The police monitored the poser scene with a massive operation on the night from Saturday to Sunday in order to prevent any meetings. Loud SWR Numerous patrols were used and between 100 and 120 vehicles from the poser scene were identified.

A particularly busy parking lot has between 60 and 80 cars waiting to appear. The police issued notices to motorcyclists and had to cancel a planned city tour by Poser in Ulm early. During the inspections, numerous reports were recorded, including for unnecessary driving and speeding violations. The Posers' last major meeting, at the beginning of October, ended in chaos when the police were attacked by 150 to 200 people and had to call for reinforcements.

Violations and controls

The police measures are not unique. In other places in the country, action is also being taken against the often reckless drivers. That's what she reported South German newspaper from a meeting in Neuwied, where around 500 tuned cars came together. The police also carried out extensive checks here and withdrew five vehicles from traffic because they presumably did not have an operating license.

The situation comes to a head again and again when the posers gather to show off their cars and drive around. In an incident in Neuwied, a driver attempted to drive towards a police officer, which initiated criminal proceedings. Fortunately, the officer was uninjured.

History and current developments

In Singen, a neighboring town, there are also problems with the poser scene, which has existed for years. The cars celebrated their gatherings especially on Good Friday, a quiet holiday. To counteract this chaos, the city has issued a general order prohibiting such meetings. Anyone who violates this will face confiscation of the vehicle and high fines.

The city has increased police officers, especially on holidays. The cooperation with the Swiss police should also be mentioned, as Singen is close to the border. The police differentiate between tuners who act within the framework of the law, posers who display problematic behavior and speeders who violate the road traffic regulations.

But the good news? The number of meetings and posers has now decreased due to increased controls. It remains to be hoped that the police's ongoing measures will also bear fruit in Ulm and the surrounding area and ensure greater safety for all road users.
