Caterpillar alert! SSV Ulm 1846 starts its preparation for the season with new stars
SSV Ulm 1846 Football has freshly positioned itself for the coming season. The club started preparing for the 2025/2026 season with an exciting squad that includes ten new players and three new coaches led by head coach Robert Lechleiter. On Saturday, June 28th, the first test match against VfR Aalen will be played in Dorfmerkingen, as the stadium in Aalen is closed due to oak processionary moths, which can cause allergic reactions like this Augsburger Allgemeine reported.
A special highlight of the test game is that part of the proceeds goes to the Marienpflege in Ellwangen. This way, viewers can not only support their team, but also support a good cause. Another test match follows just a few days later, on July 2nd, when the second representative of FC Bayern Munich takes to the field in Ersingen, with the proceeds from the event going to the SG Ersingen sports youth team.
Start of the season with a big celebration
The entire training preparation lasts six weeks and includes, among other things, a training camp in Mals/South Tyrol from July 5th to 12th. Accompanied by a large number of SSV fans, the final test match will be played on July 11th against the Italian fourth division club FC Obermais. These training sessions are crucial for the players to strengthen their fitness and team spirit, as on zone14 can be read.
The big end of the season will take place on July 20th, Oath Sunday, with a celebratory service in Ulm Minster at 12 p.m. A friendly match against Swiss first division club FC Zurich will then kick off at 3:30 p.m. in the Donaustadion. Here fans can admire the new players in their home jersey, which will be available at the stadium on the same day. A supporting program with a team introduction, autograph session and activities for children rounds off the event FuPa highlights.
Preparation as the key to success
Preparation for the season is very important, especially in amateur football. It requires commitment from coaches and players and can be crucial to success on the pitch. Proper nutrition, effective regeneration and, above all, fun while playing are factors that can be supported by modern methods such as video analysis. SSV Ulm will start the new season well prepared, which will be ushered in with a promising squad and exciting test matches.
