Violence escalates in the High Rhine: 19-year-old kicks on the ground, 43-year-old injured!

There have been some worrying incidents in the Waldshut-Tiengen region in recent days, which shed light on the security situation in the area. On September 11th, around 11 a.m., a 19-year-old woman was kicked by a man on Bismarckstrasse. An alert witness witnessed the attack and police are continuing to seek additional witnesses to shed light on this incident. Anyone interested can call 07751/8316531, reports the South Courier.

But that wasn't the only incident of this kind: On the night of September 14th, a 43-year-old woman was attacked by several men in the spa gardens of Grafenhausen. The perpetrators injured her with a glass bottle, which makes the situation appear even more dramatic. The Bonndorf police station is asking for information on 07703/93250.

Traffic accidents and crime in focus

This weekend, several traffic accidents also occurred in the region, which had serious consequences. On September 14th there was a serious traffic accident at the intersection of L151 and K6532 in which a 57-year-old VW driver ignored the right of way of a 32-year-old motorcyclist. The motorcyclist was seriously injured and had to be taken to hospital by rescue helicopter. The damage is estimated at around 16,000 euros.

In addition, on the same day, a 23-year-old motorcyclist crashed in Stühlingen and was still recovering from his injuries in hospital, also transported by helicopter. A 16-year-old two-wheeler driver was also involved in a serious accident on Wehratalstrasse on September 13th, in which she was injured. In all of these incidents, the police are called upon to shed light on the unexplained circumstances.

Decline and increase in crime

The increase in crime is triggered by various factors, reports the daily news, shows up in the latest statistics. In 2023, the number of registered crimes in Germany rose by 9.3% compared to 2019. The increases in violent crimes and home break-ins are particularly alarming. In North Rhine-Westphalia the crime rate has increased by 3.4% and is therefore also having an impact in our region.

The police are also warning of a series of break-ins in Wiesbaden between September 10th and 15th, in which unknown perpetrators forcibly gained access to various apartments and cellars. As the Wiesbaden criminal police reported, cash and valuables were stolen on Schumannstrasse, among other places. The investigation is ongoing at full speed and witnesses are asked to call (0611) 345-0.
